Wikipedia defines a thought leader as a person who is recognized among their peers and mentors for innovative ideas and demonstrates the confidence to promote or share those ideas as actionable distilled insights. Taking the vast ocean of opportunities, how does a thought leader developideas into a full grown an action plan? Being a thought leader can be a powerful tool, especially in the development stages of a endeavour, such as taking a company international or developing a compensation plan for a network marketing company. The health of a company indeed is built upon leadership.

Michael Dell is a thought leader. Some of you may know the story how instead of pursuing medicine Michael Dell left to build computers. He thought leadership was evident when he decided that he could sell his computers directly to the customer, something no other company had done at that point as successfully as he did. Anyone can become a thought leader. Find a mentor, develop yourself. You are your own greatest asset.

Of Weddings and Introductions

I hear from newlyweds quite often about all the things they love about their other half. Truth is, much of what we often find so incredible about another person can disappear in a moment. This is why we ultimately long for unconditional love. When we are loved even in our must unlovely states.

Yesterday, I accompanied my tita at a wedding ceremony in Tondo, Manila. She wanted me to drive her to the church. Actually, I haven't been there but good thing I have a map and that my uncle volunteered to be the driver. I navigate while he drives. What can I say? One word, Dense. Then later that night, I had a 121 with a new discipler, Kuya Oj. He's entertaining and a bit gay or maybe just a cheerful person. My 121's with him will be quite interesting. Keeping it all inside doesn't help and just makes things exponentially worse. No offense MEM, I'm just telling the truth. I'm thinking of making a list of caveats or something similar like this that applies to my course. You'd better watch out for it.

For many students, earning a degree in engineering is less than enjoyable and far from what they expected. Here are our biggest complaints about the educational rite of passage. Of course, they are sweeping generalizations. Feel free to disagree.

5. Awful Textbooks
Thick, dry, black and white manuscripts are rarely a source of inspiration and sometimes can cause loads of confusion. Often, the text is poorly written and interrupted by lengthy equations with symbols that are different from those used by the professor during lectures.

4. Professors are Rarely Encouraging
During each class, a professor that would rather be tending to his research will waltz up to a blackboard or overhead projector and scribble out equations for an hour without uttering a single sentence to create some excitement.

3. Dearth of Quality Counseling
College students may not have a sense for how to build their resume and they might be clueless about the variety of career opportunities that await them. Unfortunately, some academic advisers do little more than post fliers about internships and hand out a checklist of classes to take. They should make some projections about the future job market, learn about the interests of each young scholar, and offer them tailored advice for how to best prepare themselves.

2. Other Disciplines Have Inflated Grades
Brilliant engineering students may earn surprisingly low grades while slackers in other departments score straight As for writing book reports and throwing together papers about their favorite zombie films.

Some professors view undergraduate education as a type of natural selection, but their analogy is flawed. Many of the brightest students may struggle while mediocre scholars can earn top scores because they have a larger group of supportive friends to or more time to dedicate to studying.

1. Every Assignment Feels the Same
Nearly every homework assignment and test question is a math problem. Only a few courses require creativity or offer hands-on experience.

If you want to complain about your education, or our list, this is your chance. I apologize. But first, to those who don't know 121, it's a form of discipling wherein a one-to-one communication of biblical preaching is happening between a preacher/discipler and a listener/disciple. It's a notion or better a practice known in the VCF. Didn't our religion teacher, priests and pastors told us that the bible is the source of knowledge and contains answers to our questions? Well, I bumped into a blog called Neatorama (http://www.neatorama.com) and got this post which originally belongs to Ian McKenzie of Ian’s Messy Desk blog and tells us 14 Old Testament Ways to Get a Wife. Here are the first five:

1. Find an attractive prisoner of war, bring her home, shave her head, trim her nails, and give her new clothes. Then she’s yours. - (Deuteronomy 21:11-13)

2. Find a prostitute and marry her. - (Hosea 1:1-3)

3. Find a man with seven daughters, and impress him by watering his flock.- Moses (Exodus 2:16-21)

4. Purchase a piece of property, and get a woman as part of the deal. - Boaz (Ruth 4:5-10)

5. Go to a party and hide. When the women come out to dance, grab one and carry her off to be your wife. - Benjaminites (Judges 21:19-25)

I personally find no.5 funny but I'd go for no.2 for practicality. wahah =p

hungry

I enjoy eating as much as the next person, but sometimes I wish I could get my entire daily caloric intake and allowance of nutrients in one, simple beverage. The last time I had a taste of her food was last September 2007, and prior to that, way back to my last trip at Dubai during my high school days. I do cook. I love to cook. No, I mean I like cooking. I can't necessarily say that I love to cook because if that was the case, I'd persist no matter what circumstances arise that may hinder me from cooking. Probably, I would love to cook only if I have all the materials I need and a nice kitchen.

P.S. These relatives understand each other's needs well; Scorpio needs to be respected and honored, while Leo wants to be adored and complimented. They are both strongly loyal, often possessive of each other.

This family is strongly loyal and demanding of one another's time. Leo tends to be flamboyant, and the service-oriented Scorpio parent will be more than happy to give Leo the audience they require. As Leo shines, Scorpio will be content to control the fundamentals. Because both Signs are so determined, they really need to work to understand and accept each other.

Both Signs are able to provide what the other needs and respond favorably to one another's strengths. Scorpio wants to feel needed and likes and expects their child to come to them for advice. Leo wants to hear that they are on track and that they have their parent's approval on life decisions. Laughing together and enjoying time spent with the family, they will have few disagreements.

The best aspect of the Leo-Scorpio family relationship is their mutual dedication to each other and the projects they partake in. They are seen as a strong pair by others, and their mutual commitment to fulfilling their goals makes theirs a powerful and reliable family.

Provided by: Astrology.com

Coworker

Leo & Aquarius

When Leo and Aquarius work together, the combination of Aquarian vision and Leo creativity makes the world take notice. This partnership is vibrant and vigorous, and while occasional competitions may arise between them, there is never a dull moment for this pair! They can be great friends and business associates; their Signs are congenial and have a good rapport. Both of them are idealistic and enthusiastic about life. Both are attracted to anything new, and they love thrills; they may even occasionally turn life into a giant game of Truth or Dare.

Many Leo-Aquarius relationships thrive on mutual admiration. Leo admires the uniqueness, vision and inventive characteristics of Aquarius. In turn, Aquarius admires the Lion's energy, charisma and dignity -- Aquarians always have new ideas, but they don't always have the ambition to turn ideas into reality the way Leo does. Both Signs enjoy their independence, but conflicts can arise if Leo seems too overbearing or Aquarius seems too impersonal or distant. Both partners need to learn that they view the world in different ways. Leo can be too dramatic for Aquarius' taste, but Aquarius, in turn, may be too unpredictable for their Leo partner. As long as they express to each other the value of the alliance, things will be just fine!

Leo is ruled by the Sun and Aquarius is ruled by the Planets Saturn and Uranus. These three Planets form a sort of cycle that is indicative of the Leo-Aquarius relationship and their ability to come together to create new institutions. Uranus is the Planet of new ideas and creativity; it's from this Planet that Aquarius gets its great vision. Then the Sun gives life and an identity to their collective ideas. Finally Saturn keeps the process going to completion, following up after Uranus' inspiration has been exhausted and the Sun's energy moves on to new things.

Leo is a Fire Sign and Aquarius is an Air Sign. Air fuels Fire and keeps it going; Aquarius can keep up with the action and energy of Leo and create special effects from the control panel that make the Lion a shining star. They can reach astounding heights together. Aquarius is able to use intellect to inspire Leo's ambition and feed them new ideas to put into practice -- they are very stimulating to Leo. Together the two reciprocate a cycle of personal growth and development. Both Signs have wide-ranging interests, and Leo's desire to creatively participate makes them happy to carry out the ideas of the more reserved Aquarius.

Leo and Aquarius are both Fixed Signs. Leo gives Aquarius the assertiveness to charge ahead and take action, rather than just sitting in the laboratory concocting new ideas. Aquarius can impress Leo with their unique vision and originality. This partnership is energetic and unstoppable, and although occasional competitions may occur, there is never a dull moment for these two. Their Signs are congenial and have a good relationship. Both tend to be idealistic and highly motivated. Both are attracted to all things novel, and are thrill-seekers; they may even occasionally turn life into a giant game of Truth or Dare.

Many Leo-Aquarius relationships thrive on unending mutual admiration. Leo admires the individualism, vision and creative characteristics of Aquarius. In turn, Aquarius admires the Lion's zeal, charm and dignity -- Aquarians always have new ideas, but they don't always have the drive to make those ideas real as Leo does. Both Signs pride themselves on their independence, but conflicts can arise if Leo seems too demanding or Aquarius seems too aloof. Both partners should respect differences of perspective in the other. Leo can be too dramatic for Aquarius' taste, but Aquarius in turn could be too unsteady for their Leo counterpart. If they communicate to one another the value of the relationship, everything will be okay.

Leo is ruled by The Sun and Aquarius is ruled by the Planets Saturn and Uranus. These three Planets form a sort of cycle indicative of the Leo-Aquarius relationship and their ability to come together to create new institutions. Uranus is the Planet of new ideas and creativity; it's from this Planet that Aquarius gets its great vision. Then The Sun gives life and an identity to their collective ideas. Finally Saturn keeps the process going to completion, following up after Uranus's inspiration has been exhausted and The Sun's energy moves on to new things.

Leo is a Fire Sign and Aquarius is an Air Sign. Air fuels Fire and keeps it going; Aquarius can not only keep pace with the motion and fireball of energy that is Leo, but can add special effects. They can soar to astounding heights together. Aquarius is able to use intellect to inspire Leo's ambition and feed them new ideas to put into practice -- they are very stimulating to Leo. Together the two feed a process of mutual personal growth and development. Both Signs have a multitude of interests, and Leo's desire to be original leaves them more than happy to carry out the ideas of the more withdrawn Aquarius.

Leo and Aquarius are both Fixed Signs. Leo gives Aquarius the courage to charge ahead and take action, rather than just sitting in the lab formulating ideas. Aquarius's originality can impress Leo, as can their unique vision. They are both loyal and extremely devoted to one another, and when they understand that they don't necessarily need to be in charge all the time, they can succeed side by side.

What's the best aspect of the Leo-Aquarius relationship? It's their ability to create magic when they're together. Fixed Fire and Fixed Air cover all the bases -- these partners get an idea, plan how to put it into action, get the ball rolling and see it through to completion. This cycle makes theirs a love match of vision as well as practice.

Provided by: Astrology.com

Personal Mission - Vision Statement

MISSION:

Siguro sa isang boto ko, it would make a difference. Ahahaha. Seryoso.. malay nyo.

Tuwing eleksyon parang fiesta. Tuwing eleksyon makalat ang lungsod. Tuwing eleksyon maraming plastic. Now, that I'm in college I've already missed twice. For the past 4 years in Taft, yesterday was the best University week. The past University week sucked. Literally It sucks. They shouldn't have celebrated a University week if most of the students doesn't even feel the presence of it. But, this year's University week and even its culminating night was the best. Even Br. Armyn, the chairman of our school, admits that this year was the largest La Salle crowd they've gathered. Somehow, yesterday was memorable, because somehow something nice happened.

I was hoping that many of my batch mates are going to show up at the culminating night. Kita-kits na naman ang barkada! But it was only Bev who showed up. Sigh. I also saw Omi but only after the fireworks display which was the finale of the night. I should have reminded them about the concert. Yeah, there was a concert, organization fair, faculty show (of the entire college) and a fashion show (by F&H) too. Yet, I still had fun even though the gang wasn't complete and even though I wasn't able to watch the faculty presentation. As always, COE had the funniest faculty presentation. I was able to see some clips of the presentation. Professors, chair head, and the Vice-dean in top less dancing to the tune of Jumbo Hotdog?! Plus a short ballet skit by Sir Bello. =P

I wasn't that enthusiastic with the concert (Sugarfree lang ang gusto ko mapanood sa bands). I was more excited with the badminton game. I barely no a little about badminton but I still gave it a try just for fun. The match was a doubles against Aby and Hanzel. I had Kevin as my partner. At the last minute he backed out for an important agenda. Good thing Herlyn was available as a substitute that day. So it was me and Herlyn versus Hanzel and Aby. It took us 1-hr to finish our match (feeling pro kami). Ok, so we lost. But you can put it this way, we were too kind to let them win. hahah

Blue is the color

Love is an unbelievable journey to unpredictable destinations. The effects of love never remain the same. One moment you could be in heaven, and the next moment in the bowels of hell. Emotions could range from bliss to misery. One day it is sunshine and laughter and the next day could be downcast and gloomy. Love could be wonderful one moment, terrible the next.

When it is joyous, there is no emotion in the world that can match it. You want to dance, sing, shout, skip, strip (just kidding).. but when your love hits a bad patch, you droop, gag, and feel like screaming out for help. Every phase that the journey of love takes you through is different, and you need to adapt to it.

Love is total trust, mutual respect and admiration.
It is not that love knows all problems. It is but natural that two individuals share different points of view which could cause arguments. But a little give-and-take/ a dose of humour can iron out any difference, and they can be friends again. The person you love is your best friend, someone whom you trust, and is with you through happy times or tough times.

Love is vital to your existence as blood is for your body. The color of love to me is a certain shade of blue. It symbolizes peace and calm - the very basis of happiness. And as a famous Beetles' song goes "..All you need is LOVE!" Well, we absolutely need love. But, as you can see, the story doesn't end there.

Pseudo Profs

This is for all of the students who have stupid teachers

Teachers who give punishments for stupid things like getting a drink of water, answering an urgent phone call, or being absent due to a sickness.

Stupid teachers who assign the same piece of homework, journal critique, or reflection paper from two weeks or something like that and call your work a junk.

Teachers who failed to act and see things with ethics and professionalism. A better person this year.. but I wanted to mention this one and hopefully, hopefully, HOPEFULLY, I can stick to it this year. 2007, I really want to focus on school and family. I've pretty much said it every year for the past couple of years, but I'm really hoping to mean it this year. 2007 is going to be a major year of change, I think. So far, the age of twenteen is looking really good (*knock on wood* for lucky-luck) and I'm hoping 2007 is a reflection of that. Things will be quite different this year. Most of my classmates and friends from my batch are on their OJTs while me and some are still left at school. I plan to take up my practicum this summer if its possible or on the first term of next school year. For now, got to catch up on subjects and do good in our thesis. Oh thesis! really have to rush things up. Got to learn again how to program and read a lot of books... Finish the thesis by the end of the year or at least creat a prototype. Just lately, I had a problem with one of our profs... actually the prof is the problem. hat's why we don't like him. I wont let his treatment get away that easy. I don't care if he's the co-founder of the organization or the department (I'm not even sure) but his bad precedent should end now.

So this is a pretty big resolution for the year, and will probably be one of the more challenging ones, most definitely. But I really want to try this time. I hope to do it. Do send encouragement! That would help out, mucho!

...I want to experience the Nintendo Wii and PS3! =)

MEM VORTEX

De La Salle University’s Society of Manufacturing Engineers celebrates 20 years in its major show.

VORTEX
Vision to Reach the Extreme
Reaching beyond the ordinary

Catch extreme shows that you’d never want to miss. But, it turned out to be a fundraising event. Why? Because the school doesn't allow any concert activities to be approved that simple. They're loking for a good reason/purpose of the concert before its granted. And most of the time a fundraising or charity concert related event is approved easily. The other reason why we made the project a fundraising event is that we thought we could also earn (if we're able to) from the ticket sales.

My uncle was concerned about the expenses we're going to have. Actually, that's the problem we're trying to fix. EXPENSES. We need moolah, ka-ching, those green stuffs. The worst thing that's going to happen here in this project is that we'll only reach a break-even. And I'm hoping that wont happen. I don't want that to happen. It's less that three weeks before the event and I feel that I'm not exerting much effort but I know I'm trying to do what I can for this event to happen. This is going to be the first ever biggest event of our org. And this is what I want to give to the org, batchmates, classmates, friends before our term as officers end. Pare, we'll make this possible.

Exhausted, without the strength to search for the last hope to go on. watched the game on TV, Araneta was brimming with Bedans young and old. All, believing, clinging to the hope that this may be the year. And indeed it is our year.. strike that, let this be our decade. What a game it was, perhaps the finest that I've seen. One cannot ask for more from our Lions and the Bedan Community. Hats off to the PCU Sardines.. i mean Dolphines for making us earn this game. It all tastes a lot sweeter when you literally had to claw for the elusive NC crown. It was almost unreal, the Ekwe turnover, the Belga miss and the final carom of Aljamal. What a close call. Friends. Where would you be without them? The day drudges on, and the stress begins to overwhelm. It's one of those days. Some accomplishments are harder to fulfill, but they work out. Eventually. It's the end of a day. Exhaustion seeps in, but sleep doesn't come. As easily as it should. And then you realise, every subconscious moment was infused with thoughts of her. It's odd, this feeling. So enigmatic and so poignant.

From Laguna to Tagaytay

This is how i only enjoyed my term-break. I hope next time we could have another outing with a complete attendance so I could show them my new diving style (hehe). And I also want to experience Davao. =)

Welcome to Americans Farms formerly Filipinas Farms

Group pic at Tagaytay

Friends who were at Davao

Lucky No.13

Listed here are the thirteen songs I'm into right now. It is, simultaneously, a lot to ask for and not much at all.
I am a realistic optimist. What I am looking for, I’m not sure exists. Still, I hope I am blessed enough to prove myself wrong.
Many of my family and friends are struggling these days too. We all need strength and faith. We need to support one another.

Earlier this morning I was able to try a different kind of noodle dish courtesy of Da's mom. I went to Sarah's place so we could go straight to the shirt factory and close the deal. Da was with us on our way back to Sarah's. He brought what Sarah says as the birthday misua. I'm not familiar with the dish. From what I know misua is served with broth and has no mushrooms, clams, egg, etc. It may look different but it tasted good. I actually like it. I helped them in their Prodlab project, just a little photo manipulation with Adobe was needed to make a more realistic look on the products they designed in Catia. Tomorrow I'd better work on my projects.

So after that I went to our house at N.S., Q.C. with my tito. We payed a visit at my mom's house. It needs a lot of fixing. So we went to the clubhouse office but no one's around coz of the holiday. Just great. We went home and I bought Pancit Malabon for my lola. Pancit and Misua..hmm for long life? And then tito bought ice cream but it was Ube flavored lola's favorite but not mine. It should be my day but I thought about lola and what she could eat. Old people especially those who are sickly old should watch the food they eat.

Kudos to me. Ya, I think I'm happy. Though sometimes I myself am not too sure what consist of my actual life now, but it seems like I'm having a more positive attitude to living than before. But instead of spending 450 Pesos at TGIF, we watched the games at the Blue Eagle Gym and spent 150 Pesos for the ticket. I heard that there's a spot at Greenbelt that shows live World Cup matches for free. I'm not sure though, but I think you'll only have to pay for the foods and drinks they serve. I still have to find it out. I met Barnard's high school friend Ash and her younger brother. Both of them are studying at U.P. Diliman. So, there were four of us who watched the game at the gym. The Brazil and Ghana match started at 11pm and ended around 1am. The next match between France ang at Spain started 3am. Then we decided to grab a bite at Mcdonalds and and wait there until 2am and go back, so we could watch some highlights before the France and Spain match begins. Brazil won 3- nil and France by 3-1. I don't mind if it was shown here so early in the morning. What's important is that I enjoyed it. I was able to go home at around 6am, took a bath and went straight to school to review for a test. I'm so excited to watch another match.

IOTA 1 - 0 THESIS PANELIST

There's NO time to celebrate. Well, I guess a few drinks and cheers just to celebrate the success isn't bad enough. The panelists didn't say it directly but they gave us a hint that the proposal was approved when they told us to improve some parts of Chapter 1 of our thesis proposal. I feel sorry to those who's thesis proposal was rejected. I just hope that they have a back-up plan. As for our group, we have to make some experiments, quantify our assumptions, study the manual process and the design, and canvas for parts. Before that, he had won this title for the last time in 1970. If you add up:

1970 + 1994 = 3964

Argentina won the world cup for the last time in 1986. Before that only in 1978. And:

1978 + 1986 = 3964

Germany, though, won the world cup in 1990. Before that, Germany won in 1974. Look:

1990 + 1974 = 3964

This could lead us to guess the winner of the World Cup in 2002, since it should be the winner of the 1962 World Cup. In fact:

3964 - 2002 = 1962

And Brazil won the world cup in 1962! And, in fact, Brazil won the 2002 World Cup.
This numerology seems to work. And now, who would be the winner of the 2006 World Cup? Let’s see:

3964 - 2006 = 1958

And who won in 1958? Oh, Brazil did!!!

feverish

World Cup fever

Yay! 2006 World Cup has started! If you are not aware that we are in the middle of the World Cup, you must be living under a rock! Even here in the Philippines, where soccer is far from the most popular sport, you'll find people (like me) suddenly claiming national heritages you never realized they had - especially if "their" team/teams happens to be winning. So far, the teams that I've been cheering for has been doing good for the first week of the event.

Unfortunately, I haven't watched a game. I just got a glimpse of one match between Potugal and Iran because my uncle was watching a stupid wrestling show. The cable TV we have wont give us live telecast of the game sometimes even replays. Last week, I planned to watch the opening even if it was a replay. What was on the sports channel was a boring golf game. I waited for 1:00am just for nothing. So, I called the cable TV and the operator told me to subscribe for a paperview. For 6,000 pesos I could enjoy watching the game for the entire season. Come on! That's just not practical. Despicable act! Pwe! Once every four years of World Cup, they sure know how to make money. If only I knew this would happen, I should have switched to Destiny. So, I call all SkyFlakes subscribers and especially the Football fans, to BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT!!! So, who's with me? err..Nobody? OK, well mabye not.. I just hope that our country could compete on the next World Cup.

Buddy system

Finally, someone who I could talk to in school about the World Cup. In high school, during the 2002 World Cup season in Korea and Japan, I was the only guy in our class who was watching the game. I suppose therea were also few from our class and from the others, but I don't talk to them about the matches. So anyway, Barnard (World Cup buddy, who created a fantasy league at Yahoo and invited me to join, but I still haven't joined his league) found out that Mandarin Oriental (Makati) and Fridays is showing World Cup games live and uncut! The drawback, The fee costs 350 pesos. It's quite expensive though, but it's consumable... We planned to watch the finals in Fridays, Robinson's Malate. Got to start saving! I have a lot to spend (ouch) this term...

For Carlo:

1. I'm talking about football (the most beautiful game) and the World Cup 2006 which is going to take place at Germany starting this June! woot! woot! After the successful World Cup 2002 which was hosted by Korea and Japan (a first ever to happen), FIFA officials promised that they're going to bring the sport to a new level (I read that a gold plated ball will be used at the cup finals) . Fans all over the world will surely enjoy this year's greatest sport event. I hope i could at least watch a live match. sigh

market days

Deck, when is your next gig going to happen? I told you, this time I'll make it at your show. And, tell me if Ginga FC's going to have a clinic ok!

Last April, I saw a friend in the newspaper promoting another jeans innovation, the Engineered Jeans, a denim pair designed for flexibility and ease and a two day event that was going to happen at the Fort. This wasn't the first time I saw Dedick in an ad. Deck and Niño, I've seen in some ads and so their group. They both are part of a pinoy-based street basketball, the Flipballaz. It's different this kind of basketball style that they have created. They make these jaw-dropping, amazing moves so easy for them. I remember Niño back in high school showing his moves at the basketball gym to anyone who wishes to challenge him one-one. Grade school, high school and college students would gather around him and his opponent forming a huge crowd. He started this Flipballaz along with Dedick and Decky. It was only when we reached college that they've become well-known. It's amazing what your passion on things you love the most can do. They started out first just playing and having fun on court and now slowly and surely their making waves, capturing the attention of people who has loved the conventional sport of basketball. Well, I haven't forgotten about it Deck what you've told me before about passion, dreams, goals and other stuff. You're living it and kudos to you! Keep it up!

The two day event at the Fort was an exciting experience. It was filled with actoin-packed, fun and challenging activities. I told myself and I promised Deck and Decky that I'll be on their activity. Before, I used to make promises that I would go to their gigs. But, often times break them by not showing up. I was at the event with my cousin on the second day. To join the event, which they called a "camp", you have to register and join an activity. It's either you join the freestyle competition or training (like a boot camp). For the boot camp, experts in each field teach you how to make those freestyle moves and tricks. These experts who mentor camp antendees are young people, most of them at their twenties and some college students, including Dedick and Co. The mentors are chosen to be among the best of the best youths in our country at their own field of interest. As for the competition, well, you get to show your skills in basketball, football or dance and get to win a huge amount of moola! kaching! cash! =) Well, the prize is big for a competition like that. Man, I'm talking about P20,000 for 1st prize! I picked the freestyle football camp, coz I know I'm not that good to join the competition. And besides, I don't like to make mistakes and be laughed at on stage. I later found out that a few joined the competition, which made me realize that I should have at least tried it out. At the camp, I also tried out the dance and wall-climbing. Sadly, I wasn't able to try out the freestyle basketball. There's also this sport (or so it seems like one) which they call zipping. It's like a dance wherein you flung the 'zip' which is a colored string and a ball attached at its end.

We didn't finished the activity cause it was getting late and we have to commute from Taguig to Manila. After watching the competition on football skills, I told Deck that we have to leave. It was fun! I enjoyed it! I learned some tricks, tried a new sport, met nice people and I hope an event like this would happen again.

cousin mark with dedick and niño of flipballaz

me with friday a member of the football philippine team and ginga fc

Thea says...

Si Carlo...

* parang tahimik na hinde...hehe saka matinong(?) kausap.
* incubus - the warmth
* 11 am
* otherworldly hehe
* hmm...nung una kitang nakita sa lib
* white
* kelan mo ko lilibre?joke lng

From a friend

Drenched with every word
I gathered all emotions in my
heart and let it all out with
a loud cry

Silence! I hope for peace and happiness..the real deal. We have the beautiful ability to speak but we are losing the ability to understand and compromise. The only thing to do is keep moving forward and hope that we can all get it together. It all depends now on the editors if they want to publish it. But I think that the Theme of this prologue fits just right for our batch.

The Cyclopean Arch

The Parthenon, the Pantheon, temples, and other ancient Greek structures were formed from stones of different shapes and sizes that perfectly fit to form the very foundations of the structures that are still to marvel until this century. There were no cements to hold them together, they were irregular stones piled up into an arch; the larger stones form the base and make up a great part of the arch. The smaller stones fill up the gaps of the larger stones so that altogether they form a sturdy arch that can last through the ages.

In a batch made of very fine stones, every single piece is important; the small ones as vital as the large ones in forming a structure. Like the Cyclopean arch, the great ones who shine in the batch are as important as the ones who normally go by. These simple ones make up for the lack of the great ones. Sometimes, these simple ones are those that make the great ones shine. But a structure is not viewed by the quantity or the quality of its stones; it is viewed as it is a structure. The same is true for a batch of fine stones, it is not assessed by the achievements of one man, or the success of one group and it is viewed as one batch, which accomplished many great things, things that shall be remembered through the ages.

Each and every person in a batch is important, as each and every stone in an arch is important. And like the Parthenon that still stands until this day, the batch of fine stones may live on to be marveled at through the ages.

Subic (Enjoyable Pandemonium) II

We did nothing much on the first day of the plant visit. After that short visit to Hitachi we went straight back to our suites. I like the place. The room is cold even if the aircon is not set to high, the beds were enough for our group. I also like the soft couch, and the carpet flooring. Although the bathroom seemed a little too kinky with the opaque sliding door. The toilet bowl was comfortable. And was the most favorite of the group. Well, I have to agree because when you sit on it, it's so comfy that sooner or later you might fall asleep. When we arrived at the suite, we immediately unpacked our stuff, then one of my classmate violated the clean and sparkling toilet. No wonder earlier that day he felt a little nauseous. There were ten of us in the group. It should be eleven inlcuding a prof. Luckily, he didn't come with us in our plant visit. It wont be fun if there's someone older like Dr. Nilo watching over us. We all had planned for each persons food assignments and contributions for the group because food is not provided. One of us brought his PS2. While some of us were unpacking our stuff and setting the table for lunch, Mike was in the sala setting up his console. The rest were eagerly waiting for the PS2 and lunch. I brought the adobong manok i cooked the night before the plant visit. And guess what, so did the other two of us in the group. Kevin had his three kilo pork adobo prepared by his yaya. hehe. Gerome, also brought adobong manok but his was special 'coz it had boiled eggs. But, of course, my cook the best and was the supreme..naubos kaagad.. hahaha. Anyways, The plan was that me and Kevin are responsible for Thursday's lucnch. On Friday, the breakfast by Art, Gio and Wanda, then we have lunch outside and our dinner by Gerome and Mar. Mike's contribution was for entertainment. Rd brought some extra food and some of his group leisure games. And for J-than..well he had a plan for the final day. We all brought our own fun stuffs, utensils and snacks. hehe.. So, Mike immediatly set-up the console and inserted the Budokai Dragon Ball series. He brought a lot of games but it for our whole stay, that was the most played. Most of us were gamers so on the first day the PS2 was running for several hours. Gio who always watch UFC and the news wasn't given a chance to flip the channel. I took out my cam and record a few scenes on the first day we did in the suite. A few minutes, some classmates went to our room and paid a visit. On the first night, i heard that there was inuman but nobody got drunked...yet. Of course, nobody would dare to be drunk on the first day because we still have a plant to visit on the next day. For dinner we had, (what else, but) adobong baboy. Basically, we hooked ourselves in the TV (not giving a damn on what's happening outside the room) and played video games on the first day. Well, i visited some of our classmates on the other room and had a little shooting practice at the court. The second day was the most awaited. This is when the bonding while drinkig began. hehehe. Sarah's dad who was responsible for the contacts of the company we visited was kind enough to give each of us sandwiches for breakfast. Actually, the drawer for foods, snacks and canned goods were full. And we had enough food that could last for a week thanks to Gio who had the biggest bag from the group it was like he's leaving home for a week. hahah. Skip the plant tour part, it didn't took us long to finish the last plant (which i didn't expect to be the last 'coz it we finsihed at around 11 am, i mean, there has to be another one. What are we going to do for the next seven hours?). Well, after that all of us took luch at Jollibee and then we went to our suites and was told that we won't stay for long because the company we just visited earlier that day gave us free tickets to Ocean Island. I've already seen that place so it's not new to me. It was hot and boring. Some just wanted to stay at the suite, probably they were lazy, in fact all of us were tired. They have a sea lion and false killer whale show at four in the afternoon but it was just around two in my watch. We spend the time roaming around the place. Some were taking pictures, buying suveneirs and stuff. I got to see the acquarium again but this time the tank that had nothing in it before was already filled with sea creatures. My favorite stone fish was still there along with his buddies Nemo and company. It was boring. Then the show started, at least there was a little entertainment even though i've already seen the show. Sea lions were performing their tricks and so did those stupid false killer whales (just kidding, they're not stupid). Some of the girls had their picture taken with the sea lion having a fish in his mouth (by the way they said the sea lion is a playboy). So, the second day turned our to be a field trip. The show ended and we decided to drop by at Duty Free to buy some pasalubong (unfortunately, i didn't have money) and on our way my stomach was aching. Before going to Duty Free, we had a vote on who wanted to go back to the suite first or to Duty Free. That's why i chose to go back, i might, you know...explode down there. I think it was because of what i ate in breakfast, the sandwich that came from Sarah's dad or the adobong baboy of Kevin. So, for almost one hour i was holding it hoping that i could hold it long enough for our stop at Duty Free our ride back to the suite. But, nature prevails and i couldn't hold anymore. So i ran inside the mall and found my refuge at an awkwardy situated comfort room located in the chocolates section. whew! I wanted to borrow some money from my classmate to buy pasalubong but i felt my stomach ache again. It made me look for some medicine but there was no drugstore in Duty Free. Then i saw J-than with two cases of red horse and one case of san mig light. He added some more to our stock. After that we went to a shabu-shabu restaurant for dinner which means no special adobong manok of Gerome that night. This again was charity by the plant we visited that morning. We arrived at the resto but i asked Ms. Karen (our prof. who looks like a student) if i could use the coaster to look for a drug store. So I went back and they were all eating. I wasn't feeling good that night. It was a wrong timing for that to happen. I know that later that night we're going to have some good time, if you know what i mean. I don't want to be a kill joy, it's J-than's birthday. Two capsules of Loperamide did the thing and the pain was gone. Everyone was full from the dinner but me. I lost my appetite. heheh. So, after the free meal we left the place and thanked the owner of CSI (the plant we visited) who paid for the bill. We said thank you to him in Korean but i forgot how it's pronounced. Anyways, the time we've all been waiting for is almost near. All of us in the bus were singing "happy birthday j-than" on the way to the suite. We arrived at eight-thirty had some rest and played PS2 'coz on ten pm the fun is going to start. Our room is going to be jam-packed. Well, I don't want to reveal the good stuff here so let me just tell you the drinks that we had - Cuervo, Gilbey's, Fundador, Emperador, Red Horse, San Mig Light, and San Mig Stong Ice. And thanks to J-than most especially Rd who made us all drunk. Could you just imagine mixing everything except the Cuervo and using it as a chaser. Nice one Rd..sira ka talaga.heheh. It's really funny to see people when they're drunk. The way they talk, act and laugh changes, and sometimes share stories. Like what i did with Mar and Clang. Wanda was hilarious when he was acting like a bouncer and sying "step-in" and giving a drink to anyone who passes the room and not even entering the door. hahah. I also heard Mike's weird and funny high pitched laugh. And Gio's concern to Mike that he might jump off a cliff. That's why he didn't let Mike leave the room. Some, like Da went back to our room to have a drink. I didn't know he was a hard drinker. But some of our classmates didn't enjoy our drinking. I think they should just be a little open-minded. And, i think nothings wrong with what we're doing 'coz it happened at the right time and in the right place. I, myself only drink occasionally. And it was during this time that i puked (even twice), had a hangover, and woke up eleven am forgetting that i had puked the second time and left it uncleaned in the bathroom sink. I made the guys cleaned my own puke. Anyways, everyone else puked. hahah. It was fun...a sure fun. Too bad Herbie wasn't around that friday. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to our next plant visit. I heard it might happen at Cebu or maybe at Singapore (sosyal ei).

Subic (Enjoyable Pandemonium) I

I feel so embarrassed after knowing what i did on the night of Friday, Oct. 14 last week at our trip in Subic. It wont happen again. Yeah, that 3-days-to-nights plant visit I got one word for it - masaya (!). It was fun, i can't wait for another plant visit to happen again. I heard that next term it's going to be at Cebu. You can just imagine how much we're going to spend for the tickets. Defenitely, it's much expensive than the eight hundred peso trip to Subic with free lodging at a hotel. On our desire to budget our allowance, we decided to use a coaster than a bus. I have a thing with coasters. When i see one, bad thoughts comes into my mind like it might stumble or fall when it turns into a corner, or it might get crashed. Things like that. It's really small! It's really small, really, really small like a bean. hehe. Although it's cheaper, it can only accomodate twenty-eight people. Did i say it was small? So, some of my blockmates brought their own cars but still have to pay for the coaster fee. So unfair. Anyways, I think it was on this trip that all of my batchmates were present. Complete attendance! The plant visit that should be educational turned out to be a recreational. Haha. I knew from the beginning that this is going to happen. I figured that it was going to be a bonding experience. Just imagine, six plants / companies to visit in two days? And, we were expected to write a reaction paper per company after the trip. Well, yes it's possible but i doubt it'll happen. And, i was right. We only visited two plants. One Taiwan based plant on the first day that brought their company here along with their Suppliers because labor is cheap in the Philippines. And another foreign-based plant on the second day. It's a good thing we visited the Suppliers or else we wont be able to write a reaction paper for six companies. Although, we almost wrote nothing on our papers because there wasn't interaction at all and we just passed by or looked at the things that's happening in the plant. Anyways, i guess that's what happened in the educational part of the trip. We just annoyed the owner and the workers in the plant for visiting and meddling them on their job. hehe.
Well, i learned something that they have high tech manufacturing devices. And it gave me an idea on how manufacturing companies work. Wait 'til i tell you about the recreational part, the gooood part. I'm going to bed now. When will you ever realize that there is not anyone out there for us who’ll make our lives heaven on earth? Not until you realize and embrace your ability and responsibility to make your own life heaven first will you find your one true love, a true friend. Get the picture? It is like you cannot really find the one person who will make you happy in this world until you find ways for yourself to be happy. We are responsible for our lives, our actions, our feelings – everything. We are responsible for all that is ours and only after we learn to take responsibility for what is ours can we move on to being responsible for someone else- that someone else that could be our love of our lives or a guiding true friend of our life. No one can make you happy in the same way that nobody can teach you love and pain. At best we can be inspired by others to be happy and to learn, but we can never be taught anything, really. Life is surely hard. We learn by our own, work by our own, and love by our own.

I find it funny when examining Desiderata. In some ways, it gave me a wider perspective in life. It keeps one in a positive thinking attitude in every aspect in life even though it always comes the way around. I am not being pessimistic or whatsoever, but I think that we should make it a point of pointing out the weak, bad sides of what is happening around us. Does it make any sense if we face the possible errors in life?

Desiderata are a piece which shows the reality of life and how to deal with it as humanly as possible.

The essence of being human shows in Desiderata. We individuals have become so absorbed in our daily quest for success that we at times miss the real objective: finding one’s own happness. For my part, I have been struggling to overcome my own weak points that I have set myself personal craving for success, one after the other. I have to admit, it’s a race out there, and I am certainly one of the masses of participants wanting to be at the top, or at least be one of the winners of the world. After all, it is they who are admired, appreciated, and even loved, and I just have to do my very best at all times to be with the “in” crowd. I felt a sense of superiority in me each time I climbed one stepping stone after the other, believing that I will someday be invincible – always winning, never failing. It is that sort of perfection that I have wanted deep within, diving even further to win, and again, and again.

But then, reality has a way of reminding me that I have a long way to go. I thought that my status in life as quite a well-off person sets me above the rest, and it would only be a matter of time before I take over and lead. But along the way, I was proven wrong. Comparing myself with others, I realized that I could be anywhere – at the top where I feel ecstasy, in the middle where I feel secure but lacking, or even at the bottom where frustration lies to be felt. Understanding it all, someone my age from a lowly station in life could be better than me, not certainly in terms of wealth, but in other ways such as intelligence, self-reliance and even a longer line of experience in coping out with the stress and harshness of daily living. Then again, I could be way above another who is more financially secure with all the luxuries that man has developed, who could project and wield influence, but who lacks intelligence, courtesy, discipline, understanding and respect from his peers.

I have been raised and made to understand the value of competition, at least in the school level. Winning, I have wanted to win more, more often than not forgetting my own welfare for a coveted title other than honors, credits, special pins and medals; and losing, I felt nothing more than emptiness. It was at that latter part that I overlooked my own achievements: I had at several times stepped up the stage in convocation ceremonies for special recognitions; I won in contests for talents not commonly shared by everyone; I felt the rush of self-worth and self-respect that I was longing for; I was able to make my loved ones proud of me. After looking back and remembering my share of success, I made a step backwards and told myself: not bad, not bad at all. These are things that are quite fresh in my memory and would continue cherishing, but there will come a time that I have to push forward for more. Things of my past will form my personal history, and there is no such thing as forever for them that I have to let go to survive future challenges and hold out to win, this time with experience.

For my years of still growing up and learning, many things stand out as my guide. And after reading “Desiderata” and accepting its teachings by heart, I realized that what I have been living for are all there in what I describe as a product of a wise author who had been around, only that I got that high feeling that such writing will guide me even better in the future. What I have to do for my part is to be human as I can, but with tenderness, better understanding, higher wisdom, stronger spirit, better self-worth, and with greater ties with God who is always there to see me through.

What I have been doing all these years was reflected in “Desiderata,” only learning more and seeing the light for a clearer picture of the things I have to go through. It was a unique experience, teaching me the right way to be human, more importantly to be me as I am while doing all that I can to find everybody’s ultimate goal: a happy ending.

at long last

Finally, I've already fixed my computer. It was unbearable for one month of not using my own computer. For the last two months, I would rent at a near computer shop from our block or stay at school late just to finish type-written homeworks. It feels good again to sit in my chair and do what i do with my computer. Riiight.. it feels good!

Man, I've been lazy for quite a while in updating my blog. There were a couple of drafts that i haven't posted yet. I'll make it up this term! Maybe, I'll start by writing about the stuffs i did last term and last term break. Oh, right it's a new term. This should be a good term for me. Yeah. I have a feeling..

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few minutes ago, I recieved a call from my mobile. It was Arthur. He was having a problem in formatting his computer. The phone line was busy, because I was browsing the web, downloading the driver DirectX 9.0c for a game i just installed which took me two hours (The problem with pirated cds, although they are cheap, is that they don't usually work out well). It would take four hours for me to finish downloading the driver in my computer. You might ask, that long(?). I'm using a dial-up connection, that's why. Well, Art told me that it's better if i apply for a DSL connection. A fee of P999.00 per month is "sulit"/fair enough, that's what he said. It's enticing. I'd love to have a fast internet connection, but I don't always use the Internet. Maybe, I'd be having a DSL connection instead of cable tv as a gift for my birthday, which i asked for last three years, if i took up my first choice, Computer Science, and not Manufacturing Engineering and Management. Then I won't be having trouble in downloading now. Oh,well..

Man, I still have to wait for twenty minutes..i'm almost there. Three hours has past and I'm still waiting for this file download to finish. The kingdom was filled with old boxes, smelly rubber boots, bottles, magazines dated back on the sixties and other rubbish. There is an old tire resting on top pf a box, from afar it looks like an atoll. The water in it was murky and brown. Lots of decayed insects rest on the bottom of the tire. Not a sound could be heard except for the whisper of the wind that formed ripples on the surface of the water.

There were inhabitants of the kingdom, amidst the clutter, billions of microscopic creatures and big ones too! There were crawling, wiggling, and sticky creatures some with two hind legs and tails for mobility and some without any. The kingdom is free; it has no rulers, no dictators. The inhabitants follow only one law, the law of survival of the fittest. Most of the time, they live in harmony. However, they (especially the bigger creatures) all watched out for the big and hungry toadies, the cannibals of this peaceful kingdom.

There was this one special inhabitant who was different. Since she was a larva she liked the toadies. As a little orphan “kiti-kiti” she had been taken in and raised by a family of toadies. She is known as Felicia. The toadies who raised Felicia were outsiders who migrated to Hyrull from a nearby pond called Aquato.

Felicia’s best friend was a toady named Todd. Todd was definitely bigger than Felicia but has short hind legs and is tailless, and this restricts him to hopping or walking, rather than leaping like what the frogies do, the bigger relatives of the toadies.

One gloomy afternoon, the water of Acquato seemed darker than usual. Felicia decided to drop by at his friend Todd. A gang of toadies were starving and decided to have an eating frenzy before hibernating for the winter and congregating at their sanctuary. They spotted a winged insect and cornered the hapless creature for their dining pleasure. Just then, Todd hopped by and the gang yelled out to him, “Hey, buddy! Wanna join us for dinner?” It was a treat, so he accepted the invitation, but to his horror, he saw that the meal-to-be was his friend, Felicia!

He quickly called the gang of toadies, “Hey guys! Can I have the first bite?” Todd began to act as if he hasn’t eaten for a week. Initially, the others grumbled, but seeing how hungry he looked, they agreed. Todd moved closer to Felicia who was too terrified to look at the predator. He whispered to her, “It’s me, Todd. Don’t worry. I’ll get you out of here.”

In the blink of an eye, Todd extended his tongue and swallowed the fly in one big gulp and hoped away from the gang of toadies as fast as he can. Upon reaching the top of Hyrull, Todd spat out Felicia who almost got stuck from the sticky tongue of Todd, “Man, your breathe stinks like sh*t!” Felicia was gasping.

“Well thank you, and that’s what I get for saving your life?” said Todd.

“Just kidding. Thank you so much friend!”

“I’ll always be here for you when you need help coz you’re worth it, but next time take care of yourself. And stay away from toadies except from me, of course!”

The two watched the sky as the warm and bright sun began to come out. “Thanks again friend,” said Felicia. “Hey, I’ll race you down Hyrull. He has a low voice. He is very dangerous.
He is half-man, half-machine and does not have a face to show for a mother to love.

But his charisma is so strong that audiences get mesmerized. In some instances the heroic Luke shrinks in His presence. Star Wars has brought a huge impact to the pop culture. All over the world, Darth Vader merchandising items alone are a sure “sold out”, decades ago. Heck! I’ll do anything to get at least a photo with Darth Vader or a replica of Darth Vader – in the metallic black costume that looks as hot as hell.

It’s easy to say that his power is fascinating which also gives me a reason to like the Dark Side. The truth is, Darth Vader may be the ultimate anti-hero: a son, then prodigal son, and finally a redeemed soul.

He is every man in that sense, but never to a woman. Darth Vader, of all the larger-than-life persona of Star Wars, is the one who closely approximates a human’s dream existence. He was a gifted child, even though disadvantaged by poverty as many are. He is a skilled Jedi warrior, my dream role; and he on a young, beautiful and intelligent queen.

George Lucas worked in a story around Anakin. I’ve been curious to know the man behind that metal mask.

One begins to trace his roots, for the young Anakin before he gets Jedi training, continues to do as the Council is uncertain of his acceptance, and as he stands up and does not fall after one dire event after another occurs in whom the Force is strong.

The death of his mother from the Sand people is a tragedy. One therefore forgives him his slaughter of the Sand people, but becomes lost as he tracked the path to the Dark Side and trades his allegiance to the Jedi for the life of his pregnant wife.

As Obi Wan discovers this, his heart was shattered into pieces. “Anakin is too heroic to be given up, yet is too sinful to be redeemed easily.”

(Fast forward) Then, his own son, Luke Skywalker now a Jedi warrior comes to his rescue from the evil clutches of the Dark Side – uncertain at first, then determined later on (?).

This saga has been a father-and-son conflict and eventual reconciliation with some political issues and romantic affairs in it. When the evil Emperor tried to kill Luke, Darth Vader fought against him and brought him to his death. Unfortunately, his rescue to Luke gave him fatal injuries in the process. We see ourselves in Darth Vader and are pleased that he returns to the Jedi as a Force ghost with Obi Wan and Yoda in the final episode.

Yes, we fear the Dark and Darth; and we can win if we can face him with bravery, faith and a little amusement.

It's Just a Video Game

Violence = Entertainment.

Violent games have been taking a lot of heat recently, especially in the States and in Europe, where they have been linked to the increase in youth violence. As it was shown in Michael Moore’s “Bowling for Columbine,” the school “shootings” at Littleton, Massachusetts, involved high school shooters who were habitual players of violent video games. Fortunately, I haven’t heard any news similar to this happening in our country.

Not so long ago, the only violence we could see was on platform games that has become pop icons such as Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelda, and Pac man. I can remember my first console it was a weird looking black box with a long cord attached to a controller with a joystick and a single button. I have a video game where a plumber jumps over rolling barrels, climbs up ladders at each floor of a building and rescue a princess from a brute, King Kong. Now, technology has developed and video game developers have brought entertainment to a new level. The whole experience in video games today is so amazing that everything a well as the violence involved is depicted in such graphic detail. And when I meant violence, I don’t mean Mario jumping up and down on a turtle or Pac man devouring a ghost.

Aside from the gruesome gore, there appears to be violence directed on issues such as rape, women beatings, police brutality, racism and corruption. These games are guilty of promoting such subjectivity, and to mention that in these games, the player is rewarded for his behavior- more aggressive, more points.

I am not entirely against these games, 'coz I play some of them once in awhile. It is only disturbing to know that people, mostly the youth, are crazily hooked and influenced by it. We can’t directly blame them, for the human behavior is complex. Could it be society?

In the past, Rock music had also this treatment. It was also sighted as the cause of the increase in psychological arousal and aggression-related thoughts and feelings. I guess it is not that a big issue now. Video games or music marked with “For Mature Audience Only,” can still be accessed by kids pretty easily. I’ve seen grade school boys who play Counter-Strike but don’t even know how to operate the MS Word. It is up to the parents to give more boundaries, to monitor their children’s actions – in video games, music or other stuff.

Sometimes it makes me wonder, is it really violence that the market demands? Game developers should have widened their target of buyers to include the rest of society who want non-violent games, the good-clean-fun games.

Now, will you please excuse me while I finish the battle with the Dark Side? I’m going to take the Empire down!!!

Entrada Uno

Big Blog Theory

The way I see it, “blog” have become the latest craze of today’s modern society. And aside from that, other leaps of information technology includes - IMs, YMs, e-mail and chatrooms – where young and old rev up their dusty PCs for a round of no holds barred chat-a-thon, which usually lasts about three hours or even more! It makes me wonder why do people get so hooked up on these things?

But this blog, it is a term I have only recently come across- perhaps I have been ignoring it just the same as I did when the Friendster had its burgeoning popularity. For those who don’t know, it refers to personal and on-line “diaries” that people with access to the Web can maintain to keep in touch with their friends or to keep friends side by side of their lives, also as to broadcast one’s presence in the universe. And these are the reasons why people (most of them) are fascinated with blogs? It should be, after all humans are social beings. And this technology has given us an advantage in communication and information. It's amazing where they get the time to do these things. Rambling then pouring themeselves out ; narrating the minute after minute, the second by second event in their lives or so it seems, and eventually unfolding a mystery. It's nice to talk, open up and share experiences, that's why I'm here too, also it's because of a friend who insisted me to make an account.

What do we write on our blog? And are there any limitations? I have a grade school Little Bedan adviser, to thank for the familiar advice that has served me well all these years in both my personal life and in my life as a student. It goes something like this (music please maestro), “Never write down what you don’t want to read in the broadsheet (music fades out).”

What she’s trying to say is we should observe discretion when putting anything down in writing, as it is a letter to a love one, or a slyly spiteful remark about your classmate or teacher to be passed around the class, bearing the obvious mark of your penmanship.

I think this sort of rule should also be followed when using e-mail, chat, web sites and blog. And are they not supposed to be read only by the person to whom we sent them? Not necessarily. Anything written can be read by anyone, and often, the more secretive and sensitive the contents, the greater are the chances that they might be read by the wrong people (believe me). Love letters and diary entries (the written ones) can be read by your own parents or the parents and friends of the person whom you sent. Notes, written just for fun and as a joke can be read by strangers and may result in hurt feelings, or even worst law suits. If the personal written letters can be exposed to the public, think about it, what if it happens to our e-mail, web site, and blog? What should we do? I think we should take care and take steps to protect ourselves. Also, not all our thoughts, experiences and fantasies are deserving of venting.

If you think you would be embarrassed by something, then don’t put it in writing. It is better to have a face-to-face, man-to-man conversation or better, preserve it in the deep abyss of your mind, or your memory.
